Swedish massage is used for pain management, to improve circulation and to help individuals recover from injury. It is even used as a form of therapy for anxiety and depression.

Deep tissue massage
is a type of massage therapy that realigns deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense areas such as the neck, lower back, and shoulders. The stroke of this technique is similar to classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower, the pressure is deeper, and more attention is paid to areas of tension and pain. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury.

Thai Herbal Massage

A good massage relieves and soothes tired, aching muscles. Adding deep- heat herbal therapy give you extra healing benefits!
Herbal healing has deep roots in Thai culture. Herbal heat compress is the best-known traditional therapy. This dates back to ancient times when it was the secret healing technique of Buddhist monks, local herbal healers and midwives and has been passed down from generation to generation.
Thai herbal heat compress is used in combination with traditional Thai massage. Sore muscles are worked and stretched and then herbal heat compresses are applied to help soothing of sore muscles. The herbal heat compress relaxes aching muscles, eases respiration through the use of aromatic camphor, and reduces tension through the heat and aromatic properties of the herbs used in the compress. Traditional Thai medicine uses herbal heat compression for the treatment of sprains, muscle pain, bruises and swelling.
Traditional Thai medicine also uses herbal heat compresses in postnatal care treatment to help reduce swelling, drain wastes from the body, help soothe sore muscles and promote general health, while recovering from pregnancy.

Thai Yoga Massage
Traditional Thai massage is an age-old practice with a thousand year tradition in Thailand, originally developed in Thai temples and enjoyed by Thai royalty. Thai massage has its roots in Buddhism, Thailand's national religion, and was influenced by the ancient Indian Ayurveda integrated with Chinese practices.
Traditional Thai massage is based on pressure points along ten key energy lines of the body, which power all physical, mental and emotional processes. If there is an energy imbalance, the body's harmony is disrupted, causing pain and disease. Massaging along these key energy lines can break energy blockage, stimulate the circulation and restore general well-being. In this form of massage, the recipient is fully-clothed, in a loose-fitting top and pants. Massage oil is not used. The massage is done on a mat and the massage therapist employs a variety of yoga stretches to improve range of motion and deep-pressure massage to stimulate circulation. Thai massage is intended to improve the energy flow throughout the body and allow you to become more connected to your body. In Thailand, a traditional Thai massage session lasts two hours. At Asian Body Massage Spa, we offer 1 hour, 1 1/2 hour and 2 hour sessions.

Pregnancy Massage
A massage technique specifically designed for pregnant women to help relieve common pregnancy discomforts and promote mother and baby’s wellbeing. Pregnancy massage, also called pre-natal massage, is very gentle, effective and natural way to relieve many of the stresses the body experiences during pregnancy. Pregnancy massage can also help labour preparation by teaching the mother to consciously release tension and focus on relaxation breathing techniques, as well as releasing tension in the lower back and abdomen.

Ashiatsu (Back Walking) Massage

This barefoot massage technique uses deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. It combines flowing centrifugal and centripetal push, pull, and pumping movements that feel fantastic and can create a structural change in tight, sore muscles.  Guaranteed to be the deepest most luxurious massage you've ever experienced, it will leave you feeling like a new person.

Body Scrub Massage

Body treatments are essentially a facial for your whole body. It is just as important to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin on your body as it is the skin of your face.
The most popular body treatment is a salt glow or sea-salt scrub. This is an exfoliating treatment that takes place on a massage table covered with a sheet and a large, thin piece of plastic.

As you lay on your stomach, the massage therapist rubs a mixture of sea salt, oil, and aromatics like lemon into your skin. This exfoliates the skin and leaves it feeling velvety soft.

Once your whole body is scrubbed, which takes maybe ten or fifteen minutes, you shower it all off without soap, leaving a nice coating of oil. It’s an invigorating treatment, and it’s a good idea to get your scrub before your massage if you’re having both.

Variations can come from the essential oils or scrub materials: you might get an orange blossom/peppermint salt glow or a cucumber salt glow, or a body scrub done with coffee grounds, finely ground pecan shells or Napa Valley grape seeds.

A body masks and body wrap often takes place after a scrub. After you rinse off the salt you return to the treatment table. If you’re slathered with mud, algae, or seaweed and wrapped in a thermal blanket, it’s a “detoxifying” treatment that stimulates your metabolic system, speeding its ability to carry away waste products. If the product is cream or lotion, it’s a “hydrating” treatment.

Water (Table Shower) Massage

Cupping Massage
This is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device
on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and, depending on the type of c
ups being used; a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lympha
tic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and support, draws stagnation, pathogenic factors and toxins out of the body and releases a myriad of pain causing factors.

Four Hand Massage

When your muscle tension and pain requires more than one set of hands, the talents of two massage therapists working in tandem using synchronized movements and techniques will help you achieve the ultimate in relaxation and relief.
